Investment consulting revolves around a personalized Investment Plan that is used to diagnose your current financial situation, provide our recommendations for moving forward, and detail our investing approach. Each plan is tailored to your specific financial circumstance, needs, goals and risk tolerance. Our client portfolios are built according to our investment philosophy--around passively managed investments that give the best possible rewards to clients with minimal fees and operating expenses. Ultimately, the goal of your Investment Plan is to help you achieve your personal and financial goals.

As the Investment Plan reflects your personal situation, its development begins with our first meeting--the Discovery Meeting. Here we discuss your financial values and goals, as well as your key relationships, existing assets, other professional advisors, preferred process and important interests. This process and the creation of a Total Client Profile allow us to better understand your personal situation and how we can best help you. Together, we set long-term objectives for your portfolio that are appropriate for your willingness, ability and need to take risk, and the investment horizon(s) you identify.

According to Modern Portfolio Theory, the most important factor in investing is asset allocation, not so much in the nature of each individual asset, but in how the assets relate to each other. Due to its importance, the first investment decision in your Investment Plan is asset allocation. During the asset allocation process we decide how much of your portfolio to invest in each of the different investment types, or asset classes--including stocks, bonds, real estate and short-term investments both domestic and foreign. With asset allocation in place, we then select the investment vehicles we will use to implement your portfolio strategy. The building blocks of our portfolios are institutional asset class mutual funds, which maximize the probability achieving your goals.
